What a truly special evening for our parish. Tonight we held our first carol concert in almost 30 years and it was a joy to see the church filled with music, reflection, and community. It was an honour and a privilege for our children to be invited to read and to sing/sign Love Shone Down, a moment that many of us will treasure.
The service was made even more meaningful by the arrival of the International Peace Flame, which has travelled from Europe and remained on the altar throughout the evening. It stood as a powerful reminder that Jesus came to earth to bring peace to us all — a message that feels especially important to hold onto at this time.

Our staff have supported Cafod during this festive season. Instead of sending Christmas cards, staff have donated money to buy World gifts. The money raised has paid for a ‘Return to school‘ gift, two ‘Learn to Read’ gifts and a ‘Family Stocking’ gift. Well done and thank you to all our staff for their generosity!

🎉 Here are our wonderful writers who have won our Christmas Writing Competition! ✍️
Each class was given the chance to write a piece inspired by the John Lewis advert Edgar the Eager Dragon (Mrs Holmes’ favourite!). The number of children who participated was incredible, and it was so tricky to choose just two winners – one from KS1 and one from KS2.
Saint Augustine’s writing is going from strength to strength – keep it up! 🌟 Watch this space for more writing competitions in the future.

We’ve sent two sets of children out into the local community this advent and we couldn’t be prouder of them! They sang beautifully, conducted themselves brilliantly and spread that St Augustine’s sparkle far and wide…
We know our children our great, and we keep telling them that too! However words like this and the fact we’ve already had 3 bookings for next year certainly confirm it!
